Pixels Of Ubuntu


‘Pixels Of Ubuntu/Hunhu’ explores the experiences of Zimbabwean artists who represented the country at the recently held Venice Biennale whose exhibition was themed around Ubuntu/Hunhu a uniquely African philosophy of humanity and manner and how this Ubuntu is ‘pixilating’ because of foreign cultures that threatens its organic existence. The film gives a panoramic view of Zimbabwean economic and socio-political environment, comments on the influences and identity issues that the artist confront in their quest to maintain an African identity and also break free from falling into stereotypes.
