TAFF WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. THANK YOU
  The African Film Festival
CONGRATULATIONS TO FILMMAKERS
  The African Film Festival
FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DEAR FILMMAKER

TAFF was a great success. Thank You!

We hope that you have enjoyed the first edition of The African Film Festival. we are glad to know that it was well received. Many of you came a long way to support this event and for that we are grateful. This journey has only begun. With your support and dedication to African great stories; our trajectory is larger than we anticipated.

We heard from many of you during and after the festival. You gave some valuable feedback that were duly noted and with them, we will continue to work hard in building a bigger and better platform that would endure for many years to come.

Congratulations to our Filmmakers!
We are proud of all of our selected films, nominees and award winners this year. Your films demonstrated depth and quality. They reflected the diligent effort put into making them.
We understand that an award is only a fraction of what you deserve given the time and resources you expended into them. The rewards may not be obvious or immediate but your films moved our audiences and helped them connect to Africa, learning about our history, culture and issues. We are hoping for financial sponsorships for future editions so that we can attach monetary rewards to some of - if not all - the awards. We appreciate some of our filmmakers that took it a step further to connect with the audience on a personal level. We are forever grateful that you have chosen our platform to showcase your latest work.

    FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kelechi Eke We started planning the maiden edition of The African Film Festival sixteen months before the set dates; and before we knew it, July 1st weekend came so fast and gone already! We were thrilled by the turnout as filmmakers and supporters came from far and near to participate in the historical inauguration of the first African film festival in the great city of Dallas.

I am happy to know that everyone in attendance that travelled from out of town and out of the country, made it back safely to their various destinations. I thank you all for your participation, and we look forward to hosting you all again next year. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the categories that we put in place. The decisions were tough as I commend our judges for all their hard work.

African films have come a long way and the future is looking bright for our filmmakers as we continue to work hard in making quality films with great stories. From the awareness raised with the first festival, I anticipate greater participation of distributors and potential sponsors at future editions.

TAFF is here to stay. Join our remarkable team to help it grow to its fullest potential as we work hard in Bridging Cultures Through Film. Early submissions for next year starts November 1st. We look forward to screening your films at the bigger and better TAFF next year!!
